One of the largest earthquakes ever recorded struck the South American Republic of Chile on saturday, and sent tsunami warnings throughout the world. The President of Chile Michelle Bachelet declared a national state of emergency, but the country has not yet asked for assistance from other countries. If it does, the United States "will be there", according to President Barack Obama.
